Elevator Update

December 27th, 2010 by rhowington No comments »

The L5PCC elevator is coming!  It is under construction.  See the following pictures of the progress and stay tuned for updates on the a grand opening in 2011.

Adding an elevator to our building has been challenging, but we feel it is important for everyone to have access to the Little 5 Points Community Center.

This elevator would not be possible without the numerous individual donors who helped bring this dream to fruition.  And we are not done yet!  We still need your support.  You can be a part of the team that made it happen by simply making a pledge or a one-time donation.  For more information email the executive director, Imani, or click here.

Home Depot Volunteer Day

August 14th, 2010 by rhowington No comments »

WOW! Nothing short of 55 voluHD1nteers showed on up on one of Georgia’s hottest summer days on July 28, 2010 to beautify the Little 5 Points Community Center.  They were proudly sporting their Home Depot orange tees, organized to the hilt and energized beyond what seemed possible for 6:30 in the morning.  They worked many hours mulching, planting and organizing the front yard and two common areas in the Center.  They split up in several teams for their marching orders and worked well into the day.

Many thanks to Ty Hodges of Home Depot for his leadership in executing this exciting volunteer day.  The commitment to HD2excellence was truly evident in the care and quality of the team’s workmanship.  The Center was honored and proud to be the recipient of this fantastic day of community giving.

Here are some pictures from the event.
